Eleanor's Geometric and Jewel Themed First Birthday Party

Our little Eleanor Pearl turned one this year. First birthdays are a big deal, and such a special milestone to celebrate. We decided to have a big party with our family and friends. I went back and forth about different themes, and thought that a pearl and jewel party would be perfect. I wanted to add in a geometric element to keep it modern with lots of bright colors, and whimsical elements. I had so much help with this party including my husband of course, my mom who made tons of cupcakes, Small Batch KC who made the sugar cookies, and the lovely Mary Verett Photography who captured it all for us.

I started by designing the invites. We chose a gold, peach, pink, and coral color palette.

I absolutely love pom poms. I put them on pretty much everything :) I thought a sweet pom pom and floral wreath for the front door would be a sweet way to greet guests. I placed my Typo light box in the entryway. It's so perfect for parties. I use it all the time, changing out the message to fit the theme.

I DIY'd these two jewel paintings just to add a little extra decorative touch to the living room that fit the party theme. I'll admit, they're still up. I love how they turned out.

We kept the food super simple, but did a whole jewel themed dessert table. The cupcakes and cookies were a big hit, we only had a few left at the end of the party.

We had the best time celebrating our sweet girl with our family and friends. I can't believe how incredibly quickly this year with her went. She's learning and changing so much everyday, and we have a sweet, curious, silly toddler on our hands now. It's been such a wonderful adventure, and I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for our little family.
